Lifestyle: A Week in Dorset

Last week my family and I headed down to Dorset for a little 'staycation' with the puppy. We were staying just outside of Sherborne which is a really pretty town with lots of independent shops and boutiques. We spent our first day of the holiday having a wander round and eating sandwiches the size of our heads in the garden of a cute little cafe. The next day, we headed down to the beach to visit Durdle Door in West Lulworth and ate ice creams in the sunshine. We also popped to Shaftesbury one day and visited Gold Hill which, as well as playing host to some adorable houses and amazing views out over the country side, was where the famous 70s Hovis advert with the boy on a bicycle was filmed! Because we had the dog with us, we couldn't actually go inside Sherborne Castle but we spent a day having a walk around the grounds and had a cream tea in the walled garden. We got so lucky with the weather, especially as we spent all our time outdoors because of having the pup with us! It was a lovely week and Dorset is a really beautiful place - I got a Nikon D5200 DSLR as a graduation present so it was the perfect opportunity to get to grips with using it. Back to reality now and I'm already counting down the days until our trip to Skopelos in September, where I fully intend to twirl around pretending I'm Amanda Seyfried in Mamma Mia.
