Summer Skincare Update: Origins GinZing Moisturiser and Clear Improvement Mask

I wrote a post a while ago about my Origins skincare routine - it's a brand that just really works for my skin type and I'm yet to be disappointed with any of their products. With summer making a vague appearance, I decided it was time to update my skincare routine a little. I've been using the Make A Difference moisturiser but now the weather's a little warmer and my skin isn't up against arctic conditions on a daily basis, I was finding it to be a little too rich and my face was looking a bit shiny by the end of the day. Not cute. I wanted something a bit lighter for summer so I decided to give the GinZing energy-boosting moisturiser a go. I love the eye cream and so far the moisturiser is living up to my expectations. The GinZing range smells amazing and it's nice and zingy so it's great for waking your skin up in the morning - no more zombie-face for me. It's more of a gel-like consistency and it absorbs into the skin really quickly so you're not left with loads of product just sitting on your face for hours. It's a lovely light moisturiser that keeps my skin feeling hydrated throughout the day without overdoing it.

I feel like I'm a little late to the party with the Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask. I've been wanting to try it out for ages so I finally treated myself using my Boots points last month. This is more heavy duty in comparison to the Out of Trouble mask and because it's clay based you can feel a bit like your face has turned into stone if you leave it on for too long. I think if you tend to have really sensitive skin it's worth testing this product out on a small area first, just to make sure you don't react to it before you go all out and slather it all over your face. I've had a few bad experiences with products that claim to unclog pores causing a serious case of pizza face so I was a tiny bit worried the first time I used this but it was absolutely fine. The mask hasn't irritated or dried my skin out at all, it doesn't leave my skin feeling all tight and horrible afterwards and it's great for getting rid of any lurking blemishes. I use this once a week and it makes my skin feel super clean and healthy. Well played Origins, well played.

Afternoon Tea at Woburn Coffee House

Hello! Long time no blog am I right!? I've been locked away studying for my last ever university exams  but I'm all finished now, so hopefully I'll be back to posting more regularly.

While I was at home over Easter, we took my mum out for afternoon tea at Woburn Coffee House in Bedfordshire to celebrate her birthday. It's the cutest little place, all of the food is homemade and it has a lovely cosy atmosphere. It was absolutely pouring with rain the day we went, but there's a walled garden out the back so I'm definitely going to have to persuade someone to go back with me over the summer. I feel like my life revolves around tea and cake. No regrets. Woburn Coffee House is only open at the weekends and you need to book in advance if you want to have afternoon tea. It costs £19.95 per person but you get a serious amount of cake for your money and it tastes amazing. You know when you're full but you feel like it'd be a crime against food to stop eating? That.

Hope everyone had a lovely bank holiday weekend!
